Rudy

Gary,
Just wanted to take a moment to let you know how awesome Rudy is. He is about 17 weeks and is the sweetest, coolest dog we have ever seen. We have just started training and he is already at the top of the class. He is
incredibly intelligent and, of course, loves to please. The kids adore him and I think he feels the same way about them. The time that you have invested in developing the blood lines is clearly evident, not only in his
appearance, but also in his temperment. We have sent some photos to you in an earlier email when he was 10 weeks old and will forward some more recent photos in the next few days.
Thanks again for all of your help along the way.

Sophie

Hi Gary,
I'm finally going to write you a proper testimonial that is worthy of the
experience myself and my family have had with you and our puppy, Sophie.
I'll start at the beginning and try to make a long story short. My wife and
I recently purchased a new home and our neighbors own a Bullmastiff. We fell
in love with her and had to have one of our own. I started calling breeders
and every single one of them wanted to sell me a puppy on the spot, until I
called Gary. He was the only one I talked to that didn't have puppies on hand
and didn't even really try and sell my one. I was so impressed with Gary's
willingness to answer all my dumb questions and his care, not only for his
dogs, but for the breed itself that we decided we would wait 3 months to get
one of his dogs. It was a long 3 months, but worth everyday. We got our
puppy on Jan. 2nd and she has been nothing short of spectacular. She is
everything we were told she would be and much more. She has quickly become
an important part of our family. She is very patient and very intelligent
and is just starting to show that protective instinct. Even now I call Gary
with questions and he always there to answer them.
For those of you looking
for a Bullmastiff breeder, a really good breeder, do yourself a favor and
call Ashtons, you will not be disappointed.
Respectfully,
Brad, Robyn, Mason, Marit, and Sophie Smith

Levi

Gary, we must really tell you how amazed we are with our puppy. In my 5 year search for a breeder, I have never found puppies so true to the original bullmastiffs. To our amazement, nearly everyone that sees him knows instantly what breed he is. That comes from impeccable, responsible breeding. We are still in awe of his beauty.
When you told me that he was so intelligent, I honestly didn't think much about it at the time. Now that we've had Levi for a couple of weeks, I understand why you made the statement. He actually seems eager to learn, and it comes so naturally for him. We are so proud of our puppy and your commitment to great breeding practices that we will recommend you to anyone looking for a genuine bullmastiff puppy.
Soon, Levi will get his next set of shots and he'll be attending his first Puppy Match. We're so excited. I promise to keep you up to date with all the latest news and pictures of his matches. I have no doubt that Levi will soon be a Champion.
I'm sure you hear this all the time, but we can't thank you enough. Ashton's Levi is my dream puppy.

Diesel

Well it has been just a little over two weeks since Diesel the Wonder Dog made his appearance. What an awesome puppy.
He is a super star wherever he goes and he goes everywhere I do except the grocery store. He has made lots of friends, guys
and gals alike, and he pretty much takes charge wherever he goes. I will share a funny story with you and I am sure there will be many
more.
I stopped on the way home last week and purchased a six-pack of beer and sat it on the front seat next to the pup, he was licking away having a good old time and of course he is teething, well you can imagine what happened next. One of those razor sharp little teeth poked a hole in a beer can and the next thing you know there is beer spraying all over the truck. The dog went nuts and he really likes beer. Needless to say I had to plug the hole in the can with my finger for the last mile home. I pictured getting
pulled over by the law and trying to explain why I had an open container in the truck. The dog did it go figure, what a laugh.
Thanks again,
Rick

Diesel

Here is a picture of our Diesel. He is wonderful. This is our second bullmastiff and we absolutely love him. He has such a great personality. We are expecting our first child in April and I can't wait to see how he does with our child.

Ellie

It is me Ellie, Ellie Coulson. My buddy is Mosby, he visited you right after Christmas. As you remember I was the first Bull Mastiff that my parents Danny and Debbie got from you. Danny flew out and pickied me up and brought me home for Christmas. I was so awesome that they bought Mosby. Frankly I think it is time that I got some of the attention around here. It seems that everyone in Texas knows about Mosby and it is time that they got to know me too. I have attached some photos that my friend Linda took of me at her house.
My Job at the Coulson home is to protect the property, swim in the lake, and keep poachers away. I am very good at that, so far not one poacher has come on to our property. My most important job is to snuggle with anyone who sits still. I am also very good with children who come to our house. Sleeping is also one of the things that I do very well. I hope you enjoy my photos, as you can see I am drop dead beautiful and frankly the best dog in our home.
Happy New Year,
Ellie Coulson

Megan

Midge is doing great!!! We named her Megan. The kids wanted to keep her name similar to the name she was used to. I call her Missy though. She is absolutely adorable. My son said it best when I asked him what he thought about our new puppy...and he said "I am speechless".
She is everything you said she would be and more. I never knew how much we could love and adore a puppy until now. She has captured our hearts and become the center of everyone's attention. We are not getting much done and I have been a bit late going to work...losing track of time playing with her. She brings so much joy in our home.
She seems to find time to play with each of us and she is almost mindful of not leaving any of us out of the fun. She is bonding to us very quickly. I was a little worried about her missing her brothers and sisters and her mommy...and you. I am sure she does...but she seems very happy and is adjusting well.
We are getting used to her cues about going out to the bathroom. She has only had a few mistakes out of the crate...but has not messed in her crate at all (only after the plane trip). I am so glad that my husband and kids are at home. I think it is helping her to be occupied and not get too sad about missing you guys.
Now that we have her and we love her so very much...I cannot imagine life without her. I have become very very protective of her.
I thank you so much for our Megan....We will send pictures often.
Most sincerely,
Jane, Darrel, Ben and Jacob.

Helen

This is the first update I have been able to give on my beautiful bully Helen. I was looking for a bullmastiff to get when I found Gary's site (among a few others that I didn't feel very good about). Upon finding his site I found his phone number and immediately called him to ask a ton of questions about his dogs and their breeding. Much to my surprise Gary did not seem at all upset over the questions I had, in fact the more I asked the more he answered what I had not been able to ask yet. I wrote a whole list of things to ask and by the time I was half way through the conversation he had answered everything I had and more.
I took my 2 kids on a road trip to Gary's home to pick up the pup that I wanted. This is where I was most impressed as Gary had a huge farm and alot of animals and my children where welcomed like a niece and nephew. To me that made the difference; Gary even took my kids to see his duck that had just laid eggs. I had in my mind the breeding that I wanted and the color, Hulk and Bella, I was wanting a brindle but upon talking with Gary he told me he had only one pup from this last breeding. I had to have her, Gary agreed to hold on to her for a couple weeks so I could come down and get her. I was very impressed with how well the pup reacted to a new person. I even loved seeing his breeding pens and all the dog's he had.
Every other asspect of this wonderful pup has made my heart melt as much as if she was another one of my 2 legged children. Kudos to Gary and his love of this breed and his work

Arizona

Dear Gary
I just want to thank you for a wonderful experience in purchasing our pup. Arizona is an out standing pup. She will grow to be a dog that turns heads, steals hearts and instills fear onto the wicked. Ok that was a bit dramatic but very true. Her protective instincts are already strong for a pup of her age. She is progressing nicely with her training and is the best pup I ever had. Plays ruff with me and Savannah but at the same time very gentle with my young nieces. There is an acute understanding on her part of when to be gentle or tuff, energetic or laid back. The intelligence she has rivals most humans and is apparent when you watch her for only a few minutes. I've got my cake and eat it too with ice cream on the side.
I did a lot of research on bullmastiffs and have been wanting one for many years. When I looked for a breeder they all seemed to fall short. Good body but ugly heads, poor conformation, the list goes on and on. I've even got breeders that wanted me to sign over my first born to get a dog from them. They all seem to have no idea what a bullmastiff was or should be. In my mind when you think of a bullmastiff should be a strong, active, smart, working dog that can do what it was intended to do. A dog that protects its people and property. A dog that has substance and game. I see my dog as a friend that I can count on to be there when the need arises. When you breed an animal you want good conformation, brains, and game, all to fit on the original purpose of the dog. Gary has accomplished this and more. His dogs are every thing you could ask for and more. Truly outstanding examples of what a bullmastiff should be.
Everyone thought I was crazy to fly out to Arizona to buy a dog, I am from Virginia by the way. I saw the website and was hooked. Oh yeah, if you like Otis or any of the other dogs on the site the pictures do none of them justice. I talked to Gary and I was even more hooked. It’s kind of scary to buy a dog sight unseen. But Gary delivers what he says. He will give you a hundred references if you want and can add me to that list also. We picked out a breeding and I waited twelve very very long weeks to get my puppy. I flew out there for a vacation and to pick up my dog. I was not disappointed at all. All the dogs there were great. There was not one dog I did not go in to pet. Every one of them were amazing creatures. Trust me we went in with all of them, every last one wanted attention none were shy or showed any sign that would make you scared to be in there with them. They are big powerful dogs with even bigger hearts. If you’re looking for movement they have it. They show powerful, but at the same time graceful movement. Trust me you would not want to be on the bad end of one these good dogs. It’s good to see there is still a breeder out there that knows what a bullmastiff is. There are plenty of so called breeders of “show” dogs that have no idea what a bullmastiff should be. They breed watered down versions that do to the shame of dog shows actually win titles. It’s worth the trip just to see all the great dogs.
It is not just the dogs that make Ashton’s Bullmastiffs great, it's Gary and his wonderful family. They make you feel right at home. They are people I am happy to say that are my friends. I would have been just as happy staying in a tent at their place as I was at the four star resort we stayed at. It’s like hanging out with friends you have known for years. They truly are good people, and their love, passion and knowledge for what they do is inspiring. The whole experience was great. I can not wait to go back. If I lived close I would probably drive Gary nuts because I would be there all the time. Thanks for everything. You and your family made me and my wife feel at home and we had a great time. Thanks for a great dog.

Tiki

I first became interested in the Bull Mastiff breed after continually hearing how wonderful they are for a family dog. I was looking for a bigger breed and I kept hearing about how calm, loyal and sweet the Bull Mastiffs were.
After doing quite a bit of research online, I kept coming back to your website because I was delighted that your daughter was in so many of the photo's, and on the phone I also really like the fact that you care so much for your dogs, you are not one of those puppy mills kind of breeders, you are obviously someone who knows their dog stuff.
My puppy Tiki is absolutely wonderful. He is almost 2 now and I say puppy because he is still like my baby, only now he's about 135lbs of muscle too. He is the sweetest dog I've ever had. He loves children and babies, other dogs and even cats! He is protective of our older dog in that he will watch over him when he's sleeping, resting one big paw on him like a hug. While he could definitely drag me on a walk, he is great on a leash, doesn't pull thank goodness, and is quite nice to other dogs he meets. He likes to lean on me and 'hug' me, and I have to be careful not to fall over.
Walking him is a challenge only because so many people want to meet him and find out what breed he is. He has had his photo taken by at least 20 plus tourists and strangers are so impressed by how gentle and calm he is. I am hooked on the breed, can't say enough nice things about these dogs! Thank you Gary for being the kind of breeder who is committed to excellence in your breeding program and ho genuinely cares about where your puppies are placed.
I received a fat, healthy puppy and now I have a sweet, loving family dog who loves his job of taking care of us.
Thanks again Gary!

P.S. My son tells people that this is his furry little brother.

Bubba

Its John from Rhode Island, sorry it took so long to respond. Bubba is doing great, he is a big lovable baby.Unfortunately he loves socks and laying on the couch but we are very happy with his personality and his appearance, he is such a friendly and gentle dog and as you can see he is a big handsome boy. He is from HolyBull's & Molly's litter born on 2/5/06 and is 8 1/2 months old in these pics, weighing in at 110lbs. I am very happy with Ashton's and would highly recommend there dogs and the bullmastiff breed.

Daisy

Gary,
We have taken some photos of Daisy, Who is now 4 months old. She is soooooo gooooood! She is just a wonderful little dog. She is using her dog
door now and she is pretty trustworthy with our things now. She is so smart! The smartest dog that I have ever had! We are so glad that we have picked you when purchasing a dog! Breeding really does make a huge difference in
their ability to learn and just be a happy, good dog. She is really responding to all the training. She knows all her comands now and is a very social dog with
both people and other dogs. She is still coming to work with me in the mornings, even though she is old enough to stay home, because everyone
loves her at my work and she is so good there. She just lays by my desk and happily chews on her toys until it is time to go home.
I reallly cant thank you
enough for letting us have one of your little bundles of love.
Update:
Gary, I am sorry that it has taken us so long to send an update on our
little girl Daisy. I was so aprehensive of getting a dog because of losing
our other dog to old age, but it was the best thing that we ever did. She is
so goooooood! She is so smart that we sometimes cant believe that she is a
dog. I am convinced that it is because of Gary’s careful breeding and
knowledge of dogs! I know where we will be getting our next dog from! Daisy
is so loving and sweet. She is 71/2 months old now and she is already
graduated out of her crate and free to go in and out of her dog door while
we are at work. She has never been destructive and was a snap to potty
train. She knows all her commands and can learn anything that we teach her.
She is about 85 lbs of pure muscle and is very healthy. I just dont know how to thank you for giving us the chance to have one of your little miracles.
